Sugar waxing or a sugar wax is becoming very popular in the Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Palos Verdes and Torrance,ca area. “Sugaring” is another name for a sugar wax. A sugar wax or sugar waxing uses sugar for hair removal instead of wax. Sugaring goes by the fancy name “epilation”. Removing hair with bees wax or wax with honey in it is NOT a sugar wax nor is it sugar waxing. Though it is call sugar waxing no wax is used to remove the hair. See the video on how sugar is prepared for a sugar wax. See the article in Wikipedia about history of sugaring.

“Sugaring, sugar waxing or Arab waxing is a method of hair removal. It has been in use since 1900 BC, although probably using honey. (Sugar, as such, only spread to the rest of the world in the first millennium AD from Papua New Guinea. It was not found anywhere else prior to this.) The Sugaring substrate sticks to the hair without attaching to the skin and may be applied at room temperature or heated to a lukewarm temperature, preventing burning.”
As mentioned in one of my earlier articles the term “waxing” is now a general term for hair removal. A Brazilian sugar wax or a bikini sugar wax is in high demand from our clients the Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Torrance area. We can sugar wax legs, brow, back and just about any part of the body. Unlike removing hair with wax sugar waxing is all natural with no toxins! I want to mention we do waxing and sugar waxing (sugaring) at our Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach waxing spas but sugar waxing is preferred 20 to 1. A sugar wax or sugar waxing is gaining popularity in the entire Los Angeles area.
