All our clients find sugar waxing much less painful than waxing. There are several reasons for this. One wonderful benefit of sugaring is it is heated no more than body temperature. While was is heated to a much higher temperature and is known to be very uncomfortable. Because sugar is made of only lemon, sugar and citrus it is easily administered and whipped off. There is less risk of irritation since sugar molds around the hair and is less likely to stick to the skin. This results in decreased ingrown, redness and irritation compared to waxing. Less breakage: Sugaring tends to pull hair out in the direction of its growth, which can result in less hair breakage and less discomfort. Waxing is the opposite it pulls the opposite direction of hair growth and leaves in grown hairs. Additionally, the skill and technique of the esthetician or practitioner performing the treatment can also play a significant role in the level of discomfort experienced. Estheticians are very skilled at sugaring as it takes many months to learn to mold the sugar around the hair.
